1. Hydrophilic HDK® series
Hydrophilic HDK® is produced by hydrolysis of volatile chlorosilanes in an oxyhydrogen flame. Chemically, fumed silica consists of high-purity amorphous silica and is a fluffy white powder. Hydrophilic silica wets with water and can be dispersed in water.
2. HDK® Hydrophobic Series
Hydrophobic HDK® is produced by chemically modifying hydrophilic HDK® with silanes, silazanes, or siloxanes. Due to its hydrophobicity, hydrophobic silica cannot be dispersed in water and is especially suitable as a rheological additive for systems based on polar polymers.
